Yash
Co-President

Hey everyone! My name is Yash and I’m one of the NAUS Co-President’s for the 2022-2023 academic year. I’m currently a fourth-year specializing in Neuroscience and pursuing a double minor in Immunology and Physiology. In light of our return to in-person classes, I believe there’s a greater need for student interaction within the UofT community. As the previous VP of Social Affairs, I’m inherently familiar with NAUS governance and plan to deliver a variety of events that cater to student needs and serve to increase inclusion. When I’m not in class, you can find me at Graham Library or Zaad trying one of their new menu items! I’m most excited to meet and provide support/resources for incoming and current neuroscience students. Feel free to reach out via email (yashn.sharma@mail.utoronto.ca) or say hi if you ever see me on campus. Hope to see you at future NAUS events!

Co-President

Hi everyone! My name is Angela, a fourth-year doing a double major in Neuroscience and Peace, Conflict and Justice. This will be my third year on NAUS! As the third-year representative for the past year, I’ve heard voices from third-year students about being left behind or forgotten. Together with my experience from other student unions, we wish to continue supporting first-year incoming students and fourth-year graduating students, but also focus on engaging/checking up with second and third-year students to help them navigate and prepare for their future paths.

We also wish to reduce the distance between neuroscience students and the HMB department by amplifying student concerns to course coordinators and the advisory committee. We will also work on increasing the budget for returning-to-campus events that are equitable and inclusive for students involved in interdisciplinary programs. Stay tuned for all our future NAUS events and activities!
